Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2, 2026

Overview

Market Signal Engine ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at marketsignalengine.ai. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

We take privacy seriously. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Information We Collect

Information you provide
  • Email address — when you sign up for a watchlist or digest
  • Name — optional, used for personalized emails
  • Password — stored as a one-way bcrypt hash; we never store plaintext passwords
Information from Google (creator accounts only)

If you choose to claim your creator profile using Google OAuth, we request access to the following data:

  • Google account ID (sub) — to uniquely identify your account
  • Email address — to associate your Google account with your creator profile
  • Name and profile picture — displayed on your dashboard
  • YouTube channel list (read-only) — used solely to verify that you own the YouTube channel you are claiming. We read channel IDs only; we do not access your videos, subscribers, analytics, or any other YouTube data.

We store your Google OAuth access token and refresh token securely to maintain your session. These tokens are never shared with third parties.

Automatically collected information
  • Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for up to 30 days

How We Use Your Information

  • To send you stock signal digests you have subscribed to
  • To display your creator analytics dashboard (accuracy scores, influence metrics)
  • To verify you own the YouTube channel you are claiming
  • To prevent duplicate or unauthorized channel claims
  • To improve the platform and diagnose technical issues

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the service.

How We Use YouTube API Data

Market Signal Engine uses the YouTube Data API v3 to verify channel ownership during the creator claim flow. Specifically, we call the channels.list endpoint with mine=true to retrieve the list of YouTube channels associated with the authenticated Google account.

We use this data exclusively to confirm channel ownership. We do not store your YouTube channel list beyond what is needed to complete verification. We do not access video content, comments, subscriber lists, or YouTube Analytics.

Your use of YouTube features is also governed by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.

You can revoke Market Signal Engine's access to your Google account at any time by visiting myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except:

  • Service providers — our hosting infrastructure (Hetzner) processes data to run the platform. They are contractually bound to protect your data.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect our rights.

Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • Email digest subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Creator account data is retained until you request deletion or revoke Google access
  • Server logs are retained for up to 30 days

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Revoke Google OAuth access at any time via Google account settings

To exercise any of these rights, email us at abdulkadir065@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use a single HTTP-only cookie (creator_session) to maintain creator login sessions. This cookie is essential for the service to function and is not used for tracking or advertising. It expires after 30 days.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. OAuth tokens are stored server-side and never exposed to the browser. We follow industry-standard security practices but no system is 100% secure — use the service at your own risk.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
